BYRON Handblock

A handsome and grand handblock design dating from the second half of the 19th century, Byron features a formal bouquet of roses framed by strap-work tassels and ribbons of considerable authority. The current set of blocks was cut in 1917, though the design almost certainly predates them. Sixty blocks, each applied twice per repeat, produce a fabric of extraordinary depth and presence.
