The provenance of this design is particularly remarkable. In clearing an attic, a parcel was found still in its original wrapping, bearing the label of Mrs. Monro and postmarked 20th May 1940 unopened for fifty-seven years. Inside: an eight-yard length of fabric of extraordinary freshness. Lovely sprays of spring blossoms and leaves have been faithfully copied from the original document.
