Hyrdangea and Roses

Adapted from a block-printed chintz of the early 1840s, with roses and hydrangeas set against a warm coffee fawn ground of considerable softness. The stippled ground of the original translates to the Brussels Wilton weave with great fidelity, giving the design a depth and texture entirely its own.
